Giants Share Latest Malik Nabers Shoulder Injury Update Ahead of Chargers Tilt

The New York Giants enter Week 4 facing significant injury concerns, highlighted by wide receiver Malik Nabers, who did not practice on Wednesday due to a shoulder issue. Nabers, who previously appeared on the injury report with a back problem in the first two weeks of the season, stayed in last week’s game despite taking a hit on a deep pass in the end zone.

Head coach Brian Daboll provided limited details on Nabers’ status but confirmed he would not participate in practice. “It’s just maintenance after a long stretch of play,” Daboll said, indicating the team is monitoring the situation closely. Nabers has been productive through three games, totaling 251 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Drafted sixth overall in 2024 out of LSU, Nabers was a standout in college, finishing his career as LSU’s all-time leader in receptions (189) and receiving yards (3,003).

Nabers is not the only key player dealing with setbacks. Running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. (shoulder) and kicker Graham Gano (groin) also did not practice on Wednesday. Tracy is expected to miss two to four weeks with a separated shoulder, while Gano sustained his injury during pre-game warmups last Sunday.

Several other Giants were limited in practice, including linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (calf), defensive lineman Chauncey Golston (ankle), cornerback Art Green (hip), inside linebacker Darius Muasau (concussion), center John Michael Schmitz (neck), wide receiver Darius Slayton (calf), and left tackle Andrew Thomas (foot). Defensive lineman Rakeem Nunez-Roches (foot) and tight end Theo Johnson (toe) were also sidelined.

Fantasy Football Implications for Week 4

The Giants (0-3) face a tough challenge against the undefeated Los Angeles Chargers, who boast one of the league’s most dominant defenses. If Nabers is unavailable, the team will rely on Darius Slayton, Jalin Hyatt, and Wan’Dale Robinson to fill the void in the passing game.

Despite a strong preseason, New York has struggled to translate that success to the regular season, suffering losses to the Commanders, Cowboys, and Chiefs. With injuries mounting, Week 4 could prove pivotal in testing their depth and resilience.

Kickoff against the Chargers is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. EST at MetLife Stadium, with fans and fantasy managers closely monitoring the status of Nabers and other starters.
