After the USC Trojans teased the possibility of a commitment all day yesterday, it officially happened today.
Elite EDGE, Simote Katoanga out of Rancho Santa Margarita has committed to USC.
Simote Katoanga Commits To USC Trojans
The 6’5, 240-pound EDGE out of Oceanside is the 10th-ranked EDGE in the entire 2026 class, according to On3 industry rankings.
USC beat out rival Notre Dame, Clemson, North Carolina, and many others.
On his commitment, he told Tom Loy of 247 Sports:
“This class could be very special…if USC can do what they are doing now and recruit kids from the backyard, I feel like we can be one of the best classes by far.”
Katoanga is the 11th commitment for the 2026 class and the 7th out of the state of California. They still sit with the 2nd Ranked Class according to On3 but have jumped into 1st for both Rivals and 247 Sports.
