Recent USC Trojans Commit Makes Big Announcement

Interior Offensive Lineman Esun Tafa just committed to the USC Trojans on Tuesday, and now he has made another major announcement.

Per Ryan Young of Rivals, Tafa will no longer take any more school visits, essentially shutting down his recruitment. He was scheduled to have official visits with Washington on June 6th and Utah on June 20th.

USC Trojans Commit Esun Tafa Not Taking More Visits

This is big news for the Trojans, who were subject to some disappointing de-commitments last off-season, including QB Julian Lewis, who took 70 total visits (including to USC) and 21 visits after committing to USC in August 2023.

Teams can still recruit Tafa, but visits are where the magic really is. Getting an athlete on campus and showing all that your program has to offer is extremely powerful in the recruiting process, so the fact that Tafa plans on canceling all remaining visits bodes extremely well for USC retaining him all the way to signing day.

Tafa is the 15th-ranked IOL in the 2026 class and the second OL to join USC’s 2026 class with John Fifita. He has the versatility to play tackle as well as inside, which has been a trait that USC has utilized the past few years, i.e. Justin Dedich moving all across the line, and just last year Jonah Monheim moving from Tackle to Center.

Tafa has taken 8 visits (2 to USC) during his recruiting process, but it looks like that is now in the rearview mirror as he focuses on the Trojans and prepares to wear the Cardinal and Gold.
