The USC Trojans coaching staff has been out on the recruiting trail as they try to fill out their 2026 recruiting class. They don’t have to travel far for one priority 4-star recruit.
Mater Dei EDGE/LB Shaun Scott is set to announce his commitment tomorrow, on Mother’s Day.
Will be committing at 2pm pacific time tomorrow! 🙏🏽 #Grateful

Will Shaun Scott Commit To USC Trojans?
Scott has been linked to the USC Trojans for quite some time. He has built a great relationship with defensive ends coach Shaun Nua and has been to campus quite a few times.
Scott is the 37th-ranked EDGE in the country, according to On3 Industry Rankings, but ESPN has him ranked as high as 14th.
While listed as an EDGE, USC is recruiting him as a linebacker, and Coach Rob Ryan has taken over leading the charge. His versatility will be a huge benefit as they hope to employ him as a stack backer, but his background as an EDGE will allow him to rush the passer in certain situations.

We know that DC D’Anton Lynn and the entire defensive staff, for that matter, love players who play all over and in different positions.
Both Scott Schrader and Max Torres of On3 have put in expert predictions for Scott to ultimately commit to USC tomorrow.
As a linebacker, he would join the top recruit in the class, Xavier Griffin, as the two LBs. USC is also recruiting 4-star LB Talanoa Ili hard; they are the current leaders in his recruitment after Coach Nua and Coach Ryan paid Ili a family visit down in Hawaii.
According to WeAreSC, after Scott commits tomorrow, he will only take one official visit to that school. So it sounds like, barring a crazy change, his decision tomorrow will be his final one.
Scott has more than 20 offers from big-time programs, but USC will be competing with Michigan, Miami, and Washington at the top.
He will make his announcement on Mother’s Day at 2 PM PT. Get your popcorn.
