USC Trojans Avoid Near Catastrophic Injury Ahead Of Week 1

The USC Trojans‘ season kicks off in just a couple of days as they welcome Missouri State to the Coliseum. You never want to overlook any opponent, but if all things go as they should, it is a game that the Trojans should have the opportunity to get a lot of players on the field.

A few of those players are true freshmen, most notably, the headliner of the 2025 class, defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart.

Regardless of being a freshman, Stewart is likely to see meaningful reps this season as a rotational player on the defensive line. However, a photo that surfaced from the annual Salute To Troy event had the Trojan Army in a tizzy.

USC Trojans DL Jahkeem Stewart Seen In Walking Boot

During the annual Salute To Troy event, a photo was posted by the mother of USC EDGE Kam Fountain (@MissKayCJr) of her with her son and Jahkeem Stewart.

Stewart is seen wearing a walking boot on his right leg, which, of course, was met with zero meltdowns from the fanbase…

The rumors began to fly, but the most credible rumors were that it was not a serious injury.

On Tuesday, head coach Lincoln Riley confirmed that by telling reporters that it is not a serious injury, and that Stewart will be a game-time decision.

While he did not disclose what exactly the injury is, this comes as a very positive update. As a true freshman, the USC Trojans would love to get him real game experience in these first two weeks when the competition is not as tough, but if needed, Stewart will have plenty of time to get to 100% healthy.

After losing cornerback Prophet Brown for an extended period of time, it looks as if the USC Trojans dodged a bullet with Jahkeem Stewart.
