Scary Injury Sees Player Stretchered To Ambulance Just Before USC Trojans – Michigan State Reaches Half

The USC Trojans and Michigan State Spartans are in the middle of a Big Ten clash at the Coliseum. But just before the end of the first half, Wayne Matthews III went down with what appears to be a severe injury.

The Trojans were driving down the field and had reached the red zone. On 1st and 10, Trojans’ running back Waymond Jordan rushed to the right for two yards and was met in a collision with a few Michigan State players, including Matthews II.

He did not get up from the turf, and his teammates immediately called to the sideline for medical attention.

We do not want to speculate, but based on the response and the precautions taken, it did not look good.

After a long time with the medical staff, Matthews III was put on a stretcher and taken immediately to an ambulance in the tunnel. His jersey and pads were cut off on the field before being put on the stretcher.

As of now, the only update we have is that he was taken to LA General Hospital, and his motor skills are intact, per Michigan State.

There have been no further updates at this time, but our thoughts and prayers are with Wayne Matthews III.
