During Monday’s press conference, Michigan head coach had harsh words for the USC Trojans and their fanbase. When a reporter asked Moore about the impact of several of his players returning home to California, Moore responded by saying.
“I don’t make it too much of a deal… we are not celebrating going to The Coliseum because we are at a nice place. It’ll be sold out, but it’s only sold out because Michigan is coming.”
When reporters asked USC head coach Lincoln Riley for his reaction to Sherrone Moore’s comments and if Riley expects a strong home-field advantage on Saturday, Riley bluntly responded by saying, “Yeah, I don’t really care what he says, we look forward to playing.”
New Rivalry Budding Between USC Trojans And Michigan Wolverines?
Saturday’s matchup between Michigan and USC features two of college football’s most storied programs.
Michigan is led by last year’s #1-ranked high school recruit in freshman QB Bryce Underwood. After losing to an Oklahoma Sooners team currently ranked 6th in the country, Michigan has bounced back nicely with wins over Nebraska and Wisconsin, as they are currently ranked 15th in the country.
Meanwhile, the USC Trojans feature standout quarterback Jayden Maiava. After starting off the year 4-0, the Trojans look to bounce back after a heartbreaking road loss to the 17th-ranked Illinois Fighting Illini.

In recent years, USC has had trouble filling the massive LA Memorial Coliseum as the USC football program has been disappointing for the past decade.
Michigan boasts one of the largest alumni networks in the country, and many of them live here in Los Angeles.
Moore’s comments certainly add some fire to an already exciting matchup for both the USC players and their passionate fan base.
