Future Commissioner Is Much Higher On The USC Trojans Than The AP

There has been a lot of conversation centered around the AP Poll, the panel of voters, and the fact that the USC Trojans are still not ranked in the Top 25.

As it pertains to the Trojans, in the long run, all they need to do is keep winning and their ranking will take care of itself. However, it is interesting how low on USC the AP voters, and even the Coaches Poll voters, are.

One analyst, however, is much higher on the Trojans and has them ranked in his Top 25.

Josh Pate Ranks USC Trojans In His Top 25

Unlike the AP, Josh Pate has ranked the USC Trojans in his Top 25 in back-to-back weeks. This week, he bumps them up to 21st overall.

“Let’s put USC at 21, up from 23 last week,” Pate says. “The AP still does not have them ranked. Again, I’m gonna ask, cause you know it’s gonna happen. If USC get’s a big emphatic win in the coming weeks, the AP is gonna fly past us, and they may even over-rank USC. Right now, I think they are underrated.”

While the competition has not been stiff, the Trojans’ offense leads all of College Football, with 676 yards per game. They also lead college football with 66 points per game. Jayden Maiava is 5th in passing with 707 total yards.

You play the team that is on your schedule, and so far, USC has dominated its competition and looked like a team that should certainly be ranked.

They have their first road test this weekend as they head to West Lafayette to face the Purdue Boilermakers. They are 20.5-point favorites in the matchup.

If they take care of business and dominate again, they should be ranked. But we know, at the very least, the future commissioner of college football, Josh Pate, will likely give them a nice bump up the board.
