The USC Trojans have the No. 1 2026 recruiting class. They are building something special, and everyone who is a part of it is pretty fired up.
However, whenever you are trying to achieve greatness, there will be plenty of doubters who try to bring you down.
The Trojans have seen plenty of this in the national media, but now, apparently, some fellow recruits are trying to pile it on.
Immanuel Iheanacho is a 5-star offensive lineman. He is one of the top recruits in the nation, and recently committed to Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks.
In a recent interview with Rivals, he spoke about the fact that while he is firmly committed to Oregon, he still plans to take official visits to LSU, Maryland, and Penn State this season.
Somewhere during the interview and line of questioning, he dropped this random stray towards the USC Trojans.
“For Oregon, I will see them play more than anyone else. I have a buy week when they play Wisconsin, so I will be out there for that game. I can’t wait to see Oregon run through USC’s face. That is a game I will definitely be at.”
Oregon Commit Immanuel Iheanacho Takes Shot At USC Trojans

This seemed like a pretty out-of-nowhere shot, and one that felt a bit unwarranted. However, it just goes to show that the perception of USC is back, and a somewhat “Us against the World” mentality.
The Trojans did offer Iheanacho, but it was former offensive line coach Josh Henson who made the scholarship move. The program cooled and moved in a different direction once the new staff was in place.

Perhaps this has a little to do with the ill will displayed. Or maybe it is a newfound rivalry between USC and Oregon, at least in terms of recruiting.
The Trojans have seven offensive linemen in their 2026 class. Iheanacho is the 2nd-ranked offensive tackle in the class, while USC Trojans commit, Keenyi Pepe, is the 4th-ranked tackle.
The Trojans travel to Eugene on November 22nd to face the Ducks in what could be a game that decides who plays in the Big Ten Championship. Get ready for fireworks.
