The USC Trojans are just over a month away from playing real football. Big Ten Media Days kicks off this week (which we will be in attendance for) in Las Vegas, Nevada, and there will be plenty of questions about different position groups.
Aside from the quarterback room, the cornerback room is one of the most interesting, as there was a ton of turnover from last season.
Outside of DeCarlos Nicholson, who was a fringe starter last year, and Kamari Ramsey, every starter in the secondary moved on to the NFL.
This has opened up opportunities for returning players as well as incoming transfers and freshmen.
One of those transfers, DJ Harvey, was considered one of the top corners in the transfer portal and is currently slotted to start on the outside. He is also highly regarded as one of the top cornerbacks in the entire Big Ten Conference.

In fact, according to Pro Football Focus, Harvey is the highest graded returning cornerback in the conference. He received an impressive 90.6 grade last season.

Harvey spent his first two seasons in college at Virginia Tech before transferring to San Jose State as a redshirt sophomore. This is where he exploded onto the scene and became one of the top corners in the Mountain West Conference.

DJ Harvey is originally from So Cal, growing up in Palmdale and playing high school ball at Sierra Canyon. He was a 4-star prospect and the 20th-ranked CB, according to 247 Sports.
Harvey was a high school teammate of current USC Trojans starting safety Kamari Ramsey. The two are very close and are set to have dominant seasons in 2025.
