Former USC Trojans QB Caleb Williams recently appeared on an episode of the St. Brown Podcast with Amon-Ra and Equanimeous St. Brown. During the episode, a number of topics were discussed, including some fun banter regarding the reach of USC vs Notre Dame (we all know that USC has the greater reach and networking power).
One topic, however, was very interesting and would have completely changed the landscape of College Football had it come to fruition.
Caleb Williams Almost Did Not Transfer To USC Trojans

When Amon-Ra asked Caleb about Lincoln Riley leaving Oklahoma for USC, Williams stated that he almost didn’t follow him there.
“When all of that went down I was more like, I was more like angry at him,” Williams said. “I was going to go to UCLA just to, like play against him.”
This was said in a joking tone, but he was definitely serious in that at the time he was taking other visits and was not set on going to USC.
“I went on a whole UCLA visit. I went on a couple other visits too. UCLA, LSU, things like that. It really came down to USC and UCLA. Just because I wanted to beat him. Just cause he left.”
Ultimately, Williams was able to put it behind him, and when he looked at the big picture, USC and Lincoln Riley were always the choice.

“And then we sat down, had a talk, had a couple facetime talks, and then from there I was like yeah, it’s alright, Imma forgive you and we can make this work,” Williams said.
Had Caleb Williams ended up at UCLA, it would have completely changed the College Football landscape.
Dorian Thompson-Robinson had just decided to return for his final year of eligibility, but he certainly would have transferred out.
Would Caleb Williams have won the Heisman at UCLA with Chip Kelly? Could the Bruins have won the PAC-12 that season, and would USC have been an 11-win team and only one win away from the College Football Playoff?
What could have been?
Thankfully, for USC fans, it all worked out and now the Number 13 will hang forever in the Peristyle at the Coliseum.
One final note. When asked which school he claimed, Oklahoma or USC, Williams responded resoundedly USC.
Fight On.
