Week 1 high school football stats & highlights for the USC Trojans’ recruiting class

The 2027 USC recruiting class is small but loaded. Fourteen commits. Multiple blue-chippers. Heavy California flavor. And with high school season just kicking off, the first real on-field looks are in.

Here’s a clean, quick rundown of how the future Trojans performed in Week 0/1 games (Aug. 20–22), plus season context where available.

The Standouts

Quentin Hale, WR – Centennial

The clear early star. In Centennial’s 41-21 win over Servite, Hale hauled in 7 catches for 159 yards and two touchdowns.

The highlight: a one-handed, contested grab that looked like a highlight-reel special. Transfer from Cathedral is already looking like one of the more polished receivers in Southern California.

Danny Lang, CB – Mater Dei

Picked off a pass in Mater Dei’s 31-11 season-opening win over American Fork (Utah). Clean start for the four-star corner in a big non-conference test.

Alifeleti Tuihalamaka, DL – Oaks Christian

Seven tackles and a sack in a tough 0-18 loss to Chaminade. The four-star interior guy was one of the few bright spots for the Lions.

Gavin Williams, S – Damien

Notched an end-zone interception in Damien’s 36-17 win over Aquinas. Solid contribution from the four-star safety in the opener.

Class Snapshot

Still 14 commits. No movement this week. Quality over quantity continues to be the theme under Lincoln Riley and Chad Bowden — especially on the skill side and in the secondary.

Early returns are encouraging, particularly from the receivers and defensive backs who saw the field. Hale’s explosive start is the biggest talking point so far.

More games this weekend and into September will give a clearer picture. Keep an eye on Cathedral Catholic’s opener and Hamilton’s debut with Oliver III.

Fight On.
