Another potential QB target for Lincoln Riley and the USC Trojans just entered the transfer portal. Class of 2024 quarterback, Julian Sayin, signed with the Alabama Crimson Tide but entered the portal today.
USC Trojans Targeting Julian Sayin?
According to ESPN rankings, the Carlsbad, California prospect is the number one rated QB in the 2024 class.
Sayin is just the latest high-ranking Alabama player to either decommit or enter the portal after head coach Nick Saban shockingly announced his retirement last week.
USC did offer Julian Sayin during the recruiting process, but his interest was reportedly much higher with the SEC schools such as Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Texas, and others.

However, after the announcement that he entered the portal today, two schools immediately popped up as the favorites to land him, Ohio State and USC.
Sayin has a much easier path to play quickly at Ohio State. Will Howard, who just signed with OSU, only has one year of eligibility left so Sayin would seemingly be the guy after sitting one year.
The USC situation is much more complicated. Miller Moss still has two years of eligibility. Recently transferred Jayden Maiava has three to four years of eligibility. And five-star commit Julian Lewis just reclassified to the 2025 class. Sayin would have stiff competition if he came to USC.
On the flip side, if he does commit, there is a very strong possibility that Lewis decommits and flips to one of the many other suitors still courting him.
It’s a tricky situation for Lincoln Riley to navigate, but Sayin is certainly a player that he should re-engage with. There is no guarantee that Lewis stays committed anyway, and Sayin would be a great prospect to come in and immediately add great depth to the room.
Sayin finished his career at Carlsbad High School with 7,824 passing yards, 85 touchdowns, and just 10 interceptions
