UCLA Football Standout Performances

Linebacker Kain Medrano drew significant attention after clocking an impressive 4.46-second 40-yard dash—the fastest among the linebackers participating. Afterward, Medrano reflected, “It was very stress relieving and surreal at the same time. As a kid, you want to go out and perform the best that you can.” Medrano further emphasized his competitive nature and versatility, saying, “I’m a competitor and I’m a ball hawk. I’m going to go get the ball when need be and even when not need be—just always around the ball.”
Running back Keegan Jones showcased his notable speed as well, running an unofficial 4.48-second 40-yard dash and solidifying his status as an intriguing late-round or priority free-agent prospect.
Joseph Vons’ Rising Stock
Assistant Head Coach and Running Backs Coach DeShaun Foster had high praise for linebacker Joseph Vons’ standout showing, noting his athleticism and potential. Foster remarked, “Joseph Von had a day. He came out and ran fast, jumped high, did the drills well, showed his change of direction—he was able to advance his stock.”
Foster also highlighted Von’s resilience, adding, “I always tell guys, if you get drafted you’re walking in the front door. Joseph Von’s a guy that can go through the back door or jump through the window—but he’s going to stick.”
Coaching Insight and Team Support

Coach Foster emphasized the significance of Pro Day for his players, stating, “This is a moment that you look forward to your whole career. I was really fired up for my Pro Day, so I know a lot of these guys were really fired up.”
Additionally, Foster praised former UCLA running back Carson Steele, who attended Pro Day solely to support his teammates: “That’s the utmost respect. He’s somebody that wanted to be down here on the ground with them. It was just good to see that he still came out to support his teammates.”

UCLA Pro Day: What’s Next?
With UCLA Pro Day concluded, Coach Foster left prospects with some final advice as they transition to professional football: “Just enjoy the moment. I always tell them this is going to be the longest season of their life. Continue to take care of their bodies and train like they’re playing.”
UCLA’s ability to develop NFL-ready talent remains crucial for the program’s future success. As Foster noted, “It’s really important because we’re about development here. We want to get guys that believe in our program, stay, and develop them to get drafted.”
