The Los Angeles Lakers‘ mediocre start to the season has sparked many NBA trade rumors sending all manner of players to LA. In the latest version, Bleacher Report suggests that they should target Charlotte Hornets point guard and brother of former Lakers first-round draft pick, Lonzo, LeMelo Ball.

Lakers Add 2nd Ball Brother In Trade Suggestion

LA is just 20th in net rating this season (minus-2.4) and don’t look anywhere close to being a title contender even with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. This franchise needs to hook up some jumper cables and look for an impact trade for a star who would mesh well with the ones already on the roster.
Simply put, Ball’s game was made for the bright lights of Hollywood.
Averaging a career-high 29.9 points per game to go along with his electric playmaking, inserting Ball as the starting point guard into a starting five with Dalton Knecht, Dorian Finney-Smith, James and Davis would move the team toward the top of the West once again.
Elevating the backcourt has been identified as one of the team’s top needs, but after trading for Finney-Smith the Lakers are reportedly now assessing their current roster. According to Dan Woike of the LA Times; they “have a real desire to see what their second unit looks like once Jared Vanderbilt and Gabe Vincent are on the court together—something that happened just once a season ago.”
Most of the NBA trade rumors have centered on a more modest addition of a backup center, with the main target being Washington Wizards veteran big man, Jonas Valanciunas.
