Lakers Rising Star Shines Brighter With Game Saving Play

On a night where both the Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves were missing their superstars, no one shone brighter than Austin Reaves as he capped off an incredible 28-point 16 16-assist evening with a game-winning floater at the buzzer over Donte DiVincenzo to ice the game.

The Lakers pulled away from the Timberwolves in the 2nd half, stretching their lead to over 20 points. However, even without their young superstar Anthony Edwards, the Wolves fought back in the 4th quarter, and with 10 seconds remaining, Julius Randle made an uncontested layup to give Minnesota a 115-114 lead. Reaves would respond with an incredible floater as the buzzer sounded to seal the victory.

Lakers’ Rising Star Austin Reaves Hits Buzzer Beater To Seal 3rd Win of the Season

Reaves has stepped up in a big way in the absence of superstars LeBron James and Luka Dončić. Four days earlier, Reaves put up a career high 51 points along with 11 rebounds and 9 assists against the Kings. Last night, Reaves matched his career high with 16 assists along with 28 points and the game-winning shot to beat the Timberwolves. LA will need Reaves to play at this level all year if they want to make a deep run in the postseason. If Reaves continues this high level of play, the Lakers will be one of the best offenses in the NBA.
