Los Angeles Clippers Down 3 Starters For Important Heat Game

The Los Angeles Clippers, following their defeat to the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday, are set to continue their road trip with a back-to-back game against the Miami Heat on Wednesday. The Clippers, currently holding a 35-30 record and positioned eighth in the Western Conference, face a Miami Heat team in a more precarious situation. The Heat, having lost their last four games, now stand at 29-35 and occupy ninth place in the Eastern Conference.

While Clippers star Kawhi Leonard has recently shown signs of returning to form, exemplified by his 29-point performance in Tuesday’s loss, he will not be available for the game in Miami. The Clippers have ruled Leonard out due to right knee injury management. He joins Norman Powell and Ben Simmons on the sidelines, who have missed the last five and six games, respectively. Leonard, averaging 18.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game this season, has struggled with consistent availability due to injury concerns and will miss his 43rd game of the year.

The Clippers have also listed Patrick Baldwin Jr., Trentyn Flowers, and Seth Lundy as out due to G League two-way assignments. Conversely, the Heat have a comprehensive injury report, listing ten players. Josh Christopher, Nikola Jovic, and Dru Smith are confirmed to be out. Terry Rozier is listed as probable, Alec Burks as questionable, and Haywood Highsmith, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Duncan Robinson, Kel’el Ware, and Andrew Wiggins are available.

The Clippers and Heat are scheduled to play at 5 p.m. PST in Miami on Wednesday.
