Los Angeles Dodgers Calling ‘Every Team’ for Specific Trade Upgrade

Last year’s Los Angeles Dodgers squad was strong enough to win the World Series. That team won 98 games in the regular season, which was good enough for a 60.5% win rate.

This year’s Dodgers team is still in first place of the National League West, but they’re not quite on track to win as many games, pacing for 94, with a 58.1% win rate. Needless to say, there’s room for improvement.

As the July 31 MLB trade deadline draws near, the Dodgers have reportedly been busy. Very busy.

According to USA Today’s MLB expert Bob Nightengale, the Dodgers have “checked in with virtually every team for bullpen help.” Specifically, the Dodgers are searching for “another closer.”

“The biggest surprise at the trade deadline would be if the Dodgers don’t come up with another closer,” Nightengale wrote. “They have checked in with virtually every team for bullpen help.”

Eight different Dodgers pitchers have already been credited with a save this season. If the Dodgers get their way, they may add another bullpen arm who’s capable of coming through in the clutch too. Though, they’ll have to act fast, with Thursday’s deadline rapidly approaching.
