The Los Angeles Dodgers are in a bit of a tailspin. They once held a nine-game lead in the division over the San Diego Padres. After losing again last night to the Los Angeles Angels, the Dodgers and Padres are now tied in the NL West.
Tonight’s final game of the Freeway Series almost feels like a must-win. Unfortunately, they will have to do it without starting third baseman Max Muncy, who was originally listed on the game day lineup card, but has since been scratched.
Mookie Betts was originally left out of the lineup, we assume for a rest day, but now he is back in the lineup, replacing Muncy.
Mookie Betts wasn’t in the Dodgers’ original lineup tonight. Now he is. Max Muncy is not.

Dodgers Set New Lineup For Final Game Vs Angels
After some reshuffling, we expect the new starting lineup to look like this:
- Shohei Ohtani, DH
- Mookie Betts, SS
- Freddie Freeman, 1B
- Will Smith, C
- Teoscar Hernández, RF
- Andy Pages, CF
- Alex Call, LF
- Alex Freeland, 3B
- Miguel Rojas, 2B
Ohtani will be on the mound to make his first start at Angel Stadium since joining the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The original lineup that was submitted had Max Muncy at 3B, Alex Freeland at 2B, and Miguel Rojas at SS.
Manager Dave Roberts told reporters ahead of first pitch that Muncy experienced soreness on his right side during batting practice, and that was the reason for the late scratch. He will be tested and evaluated tomorrow.
