Los Angeles Dodgers Share Latest Update On Now-Reinstated Rehabbing Pitcher

After 73 days on the injured list, Tyler Glasnow returned to the mound Wednesday in Milwaukee, offering a much-needed boost to a beleaguered Los Angeles Dodgers rotation. But despite five strong innings from the right-hander, the Dodgers dropped their sixth straight game, falling 3–2 in 10 innings to the Brewers.

Los Angeles Dodgers Share Review Of Tyler Glasnow

Tyler pitched well,” manager Dave Roberts said postgame. “His pitch count got up there, so five is what he gave us. I thought that was a positive coming out of today. We had them where we wanted them. We just couldn’t finish it.”

Glasnow allowed one unearned run on two hits, three walks, and a balk while striking out five on 85 pitches. He escaped a high-stress second inning and exited with the score tied 1–1. Though it was a promising return, the bullpen faltered once again. Tanner Scott blew the save in the ninth, and Kirby Yates gave up the walk-off hit in the 10th, allowing Milwaukee to complete the sweep.

The Dodgers have now been outscored 44-10 during their six-game losing streak and have scored two or fewer runs in five of the last six games. Offensively, they went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position Wednesday. Their only runs came on a Shohei Ohtani bases-loaded walk and a Mookie Betts sacrifice fly.

Meanwhile, the bullpen continues to be a question mark. On the same day Glasnow was activated, reliever Michael Kopech was transferred to the 60-day injured list following meniscus surgery, deepening the Dodgers’ pitching concerns.

What The Dodgers Need From Tyler Glasnow

Glasnow, who has dealt with persistent injuries, expressed gratitude for a healthy outing: “I’m glad I could go out and feel healthy and feel strong, and just ready to go again after the break.”

Since being acquired and extended by the Dodgers, Glasnow has started 28 games with a 3.50 ERA and a 31.7% strikeout rate, but injuries have limited his availability. Roberts emphasized the team’s hope for more reliability moving forward.

“You love the guy. You love the teammate,” Roberts said. “Certainly the talent is undeniable… but I think for me—for us—you want the dependability.”

Now, the challenge becomes keeping Glasnow healthy and getting the Dodgers back on track. With Blake Snell set to begin a rehab assignment and Clayton Kershaw recently returned, help may be on the way—but the urgency is rising in Los Angeles.
