The Los Angeles Dodgers kept their momentum rolling Monday night with a 7-4 win over the Miami Marlins, rebounding from a rare loss and extending their stretch to eight wins in their last nine games. As the series continues Tuesday in Florida, right-hander Tony Gonsolin is set to take the mound for L.A. against Marlins starter Cal Quantrill.
But the Dodgers will be without two of their key contributors for Game 2.
Teoscar Hernández has been placed on the injured list with a groin strain and will be out for at least a week, according to the team. In a corresponding move, James Outman has been called up and will be in Tuesday’s starting lineup.
Manager Dave Roberts also confirmed that Mookie Betts is receiving a scheduled day off. With both Betts and Hernández unavailable, the Dodgers will lean on a reshuffled lineup featuring Hyeseong Kim, Miguel Rojas, and the newly recalled Outman.
“We’ll give Mookie a breather and give some other guys a look,” Roberts said, per the team’s media notes.
