The Los Angeles Dodgers have activated veteran reliever Luis García from the 15-day injured list ahead of their Thursday matchup with the Colorado Rockies, adding a key arm back to a bullpen that has logged more innings than any other in Major League Baseball.
García had been sidelined since May 27 after suffering a right adductor strain while covering first base in a game against the Cleveland Guardians. At the time of his injury, he was tied for the team lead in appearances (26) and ranked second among Dodgers relievers in innings pitched (26).
Luis García Returns to Los Angeles Dodgers’ Bullpen After Injury Stint

The 37-year-old right-hander made a brief but effective rehab appearance with Low-A Rancho Cucamonga on June 22, tossing a scoreless inning on just nine pitches. Manager Dave Roberts confirmed earlier this week that García would rejoin the team in Colorado and be reinstated during the road trip.
In a corresponding move, the Dodgers optioned right-hander Will Klein to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Klein, acquired from the Mariners earlier this month, impressed during his short stint—pitching 3.2 shutout innings over two appearances and recording five strikeouts.
García, now in his 13th MLB season, has a 2-0 record with a 4.50 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 26 innings this year. While his 4.86 expected ERA suggests room for improvement, his return adds needed depth to a bullpen stretched thin by injuries to key arms including Evan Phillips, Blake Treinen, and Brusdar Graterol.
With García back in the mix, the Dodgers continue to piece together a resilient relief corps as they navigate a demanding stretch of the season.
