The Los Angeles Dodgers kick off a divisional series against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday night at Chase Field, but they’ll do so without two key bats in the lineup.
Both Tommy Edman and Teoscar Hernández remain sidelined on the injured list. Edman, who was eligible to return during this series, is now expected to be out until sometime next week. Hernández, meanwhile, is still several weeks away from making his return.
In their absence, the Dodgers will roll out a slightly reshuffled lineup against Arizona right-hander Brandon Pfaadt. Hyeseong Kim gets the nod at second base, while James Outman will patrol center field.
Dodgers infielder Kim is making a notable impression in his early Major League Baseball career. Since his MLB debut on May 3, Kim has recorded a .417 batting average, with 2 RBIs and 0 home runs. His aggressive base running is evident, having successfully stolen 15 bases without being caught in 31 combined games between Triple-A and the majors
Here’s the full starting nine for Thursday:
Los Angeles Dodgers Lineup:

On the mound for Los Angeles is right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who has been nothing short of dominant in the early part of the season. Yamamoto enters Thursday’s contest with a stunning 0.90 ERA, 49 strikeouts, and just 13 walks, contributing to a 1.5 WAR—an elite mark for a pitcher just a few starts into the season.
While the Dodgers continue to navigate injury setbacks, Yamamoto’s consistency and the firepower at the top of the order—led by Ohtani, Betts, and Freeman—give them a strong foundation as they open the series.
