The Los Angeles Dodgers open a three-game series in Pittsburgh tonight after a much-needed day off on Monday. At 61–77, the Pirates have played spoiler at times this season, and they’ll look to do so again against a Dodgers team still trying to find rhythm heading into September.
Pitching Matchup: Kershaw vs. Mlodzinski

Vote For Your Favorite Dodgers Duo: Ohtani – Yamamoto, Betts – Freeman, Hernandez – Hernandez
Clayton Kershaw (9–2, 3.06 ERA) takes the ball for Los Angeles, making just his 14th start of the season. The 36-year-old left-hander has dealt with lingering health issues but continues to give the Dodgers steady innings when available. He’ll be opposed by right-hander Carmen Mlodzinski (3–7, 3.86 ERA), who has been one of Pittsburgh’s more reliable arms in the second half.
Dodgers Roster Moves
The Dodgers made a pair of September additions before the series, activating right-hander Michael Kopech and infielder Hyeseong Kim. Both are expected to see playing time down the stretch, though Kim will not be in Tuesday’s starting lineup. Instead, Miguel Rojas gets the start at second base.
Outfielders Michael Conforto and Andy Pages, both of whom have battled inconsistency at the plate in recent weeks, are back in the lineup tonight as the Dodgers look for production beyond their stars. Conforto slots into left field, while Pages starts in center.
