Dodgers Shuffle Bullpen Again With 2 New Call Ups, Ahead Of Big Glasgow News

The Los Angeles Dodgers made another round of roster adjustments ahead of Tuesday’s game in Milwaukee, recalling right-handed reliever Alexis Díaz and bringing right-hander Landon Knack along on the taxi squad. These moves come as the team continues to search for stability in a pitching staff rattled by injuries and inconsistency.

Dodgers Call Up Knack, Diaz Ahead Of Brewers Finale

Díaz, once one of the league’s top young closers, has yet to find his footing in 2025. Acquired from the Cincinnati Reds in late May, the 2023 All-Star struggled early this season with a brutal 12.00 ERA over six appearances before being sent to Triple-A. His time in Oklahoma City hasn’t gone much better — Díaz has allowed five earned runs in just 4.2 innings while walking seven batters and striking out only three.

Despite the rocky numbers, manager Dave Roberts remains optimistic. “The stuff is still good, but the command hasn’t been consistent,” Roberts said Tuesday. The Dodgers are banking on Díaz rediscovering the form that earned him a 1.84 ERA in 2022 and 37 saves in 2023. With his younger brother, Edwin Díaz, still closing games for the Mets, Alexis has the pedigree — but now needs to deliver results in a bullpen desperate for help.

To make room on the active roster, the Dodgers optioned right-hander Julian Fernández back to Triple-A just a day after his season debut, in which he allowed two runs in two innings.

Meanwhile, Landon Knack rejoined the team in a precautionary taxi role ahead of Tyler Glasnow’s long-awaited return on Wednesday. Glasnow hasn’t pitched since April due to shoulder inflammation, and the Dodgers are being careful as he ramps back up.

Knack, 27, has endured a sophomore slump in 2025. After posting a 3.65 ERA last season, his mark has ballooned to 5.12 across 38.2 big league innings. In Triple-A, his performance has been similarly inconsistent, with a 6.08 ERA over 47.1 innings. His most recent big league outing — four earned runs in just 3.1 innings — prompted his latest demotion.

Knack’s future in the organization remains a question mark. While he’s shown promise, the Dodgers’ urgent need for reliable arms could make him expendable. With stars like Blake Snell and Nick Frasso nearing returns, Knack may be more valuable as a trade chip than a depth arm.

As the Dodgers look to stabilize their pitching amid a brutal four-game skid, both Díaz and Knack will be closely watched — whether as solutions or stopgaps remains to be seen.
