Miguel Rojas etched his name in Los Angeles Dodgers history with his clutch game-tying home run against the Toronto Blue Jays in the ninth inning in Game 7 on Saturday night at Rogers Centre.
The Dodgers chipped away at the deficit after going down 3-0 at one point in the contest. Heading into the ninth inning, Los Angeles was down 4-3, and the veteran Rojas came up big, hitting a home run off Blue Jays reliever Jeff Hoffman and sending the game to extra innings.

Mookie Betts Reacts to Miguel Rojas’ Clutch Home Run

After the come-from-behind 5-4 win against the Blue Jays, in which Will Smith hit the go-ahead home run for the victory, Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts spoke about the clutch moment from Rojas.
“I don’t think he’s played all playoffs,” Betts said postgame on MLB Network. “You come in for Game 6 and 7 in the World Series and immediately affect the game on both sides of the ball. That shows what player he is, what person he is, just to stay ready. I mean, we love him. We believe him.”
Mookie Betts Gets Honest About Dodgers Offense
Betts didn’t hesitate to admit that the Dodgers couldn’t muster up a big inning where they could string multiple hits together. Moreover, the veteran infielder was puzzled about how Los Angeles would overcome the one-run deficit heading into the ninth inning.
“How are we going to get some type of control? How are we going to get some type of momentum? It seemed like it was just going to have to be a homer,” Betts added. “We didn’t build any — I guess early we built one, but once it got late, we couldn’t really find a way to build an ending. We didn’t really know what was going to happen. Then, bam, Miggie Rojas hits a homer, and it gave us a little life.”
