Blue Jays Get Strong Message From Dodgers’ GM Before 2025 World Series

The Toronto Blue Jays are the only team in the way of the Los Angeles Dodgers winning back-to-back World Series titles. Nonetheless, the NL pennant winners aren’t taking their opponent lightly.

On this run to the Fall Classic, the Blue Jays have eliminated the New York Yankees and Seattle Mariners. Moreover, their offense has power hitters like George Springer and Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who can make Dodgers pitching pay if they make any mistakes on the mound.

President of Baseball Operations, Andrew Friedman, shared his thoughts on Toronto and their ability to hit for power.

“They’re a really talented team,” Friedman said on the Tuesday edition of “The Jim Rome Show.” “I think a lot’s made of, ‘Hey, you need to make contact.’ And obviously, that’s really important. There’s a lot made of, ‘Hey, you got to hit for power.’ It’s like Goldilocks’ porridge being too hot or too cold — it’s hard to get it just right.

“The Toronto Blue Jays have just right. They’re making a lot of contact, and they’re hitting balls really hard. So for us to game plan against that lineup, obviously with Vlad leading the charge, is going to be challenging.”

Can LA’s Pitching Stop the Toronto Bats?

While Friedman knows how dangerous the Toronto bats can be, he believes that Los Angeles have the pitchers to offset the damage that Toronto can do at the plate.

“Fortunately, we feel like we have a lot of really talented pitchers that we’ll be bringing to the party,” Friedman added. “But I think that matchup of our arms and their bats, I think, will be really interesting theater because they’re doing something as an offense that’s really hard to do. And it’ll be fun on our end to try to do what we can to combat that.
