Dave Roberts confirmed that Kiké Hernández is healthy after appearing to tweak his leg in the 11th inning of Game 4 against the Philadelphia Phillies. Hernández limped noticeably during the at-bat but stayed in the game, drawing a key walk that helped set up Andy Pages’ series-clinching RBI.

“Kiké, from what I understand, is in a much better spot,” Roberts said. “Obviously the couple days has been beneficial, so I don’t think he’s going to be impacted going forward.”

The extra rest between the NLDS and NLCS proved crucial. Hernández had also battled a minor back issue earlier in the postseason, leaving Game 1 of the Wild Card series, but has since regained form.

A Key October Contributor

Hernández has quietly been one of the Dodgers’ most consistent performers this postseason. He’s batting .318 with an .809 OPS, collecting hits in all but one playoff game so far. His energy, defensive versatility, and knack for delivering in October have once again made him indispensable.

President of baseball operations Andrew Friedman praised Hernández’s reliability, saying, “I think we’ve all seen the level of focus and energy that Kiké brings, especially in October. His ability to kind of slow things down and take what the pitcher gives, and then add really good defense on top of it, is something we felt really comfortable betting on.”

If his leg holds up, Hernández will continue to anchor the Dodgers’ lineup and clubhouse — the kind of steadying presence every World Series hopeful needs.
