With tears in his eyes in front of his beautiful family, Kershaw thanked the fans for all of the support through his entire career and congratulated the 2025 Dodgers on being the best team in the world. Kershaw ended his speech with a powerful message telling a packed Chavez Ravine that he is not only a Dodger for life, but he is now a champion for life.

A three-time Cy Young Award winner and 2014 NL MVP, Kershaw leaves behind a résumé that cements his place among the sport’s immortals.

He’s compiled a 222–96 record (.698 win percentage) — the best in MLB history since 1920 — with a 2.54 career ERA, second-lowest in the Live Ball Era. His 3,039 strikeouts rank fourth all-time among left-handers, behind only Randy Johnson, Steve Carlton, and CC Sabathia.

A nine-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion (2020, 2024), Kershaw also threw one of the greatest games ever: a 15-strikeout no-hitter on June 18, 2014.

With a career 154 ERA+, tied for best all-time, and 77.6 WAR, Kershaw redefined pitching excellence — and in five years, he’ll take his rightful place in Cooperstown.

From all Dodgers fans, thank you, Clayton Kershaw. We love you forever and cannot wait to see what the next chapter has in store for you. We all look forward to seeing Kershaw again in Dodger Stadium when the team retires his legendary number 22 beside all the other Dodger greats.
