After more than two months on the injured list, Los Angeles Dodgers ace Tyler Glasnow is set to rejoin the rotation on Wednesday against the Brewers. Manager Dave Roberts confirmed the news Monday, noting that Glasnow’s return will come in the series finale opposite left-hander José Quintana. The move marks a significant boost for a Los Angeles team that has weathered a wave of injuries to its pitching staff.
Glasnow has been sidelined since late April with inflammation in his right shoulder. Though the 31-year-old began the season with a 4.50 ERA across five starts, his underlying metrics remained strong, including a 29.9% strikeout rate. After a brief shutdown, he began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on June 22. His final outing, a 78-pitch effort last Thursday, featured 4 1/3 innings of work with eight strikeouts and just one walk—his most encouraging outing to date.
“He looked great,” Roberts said. “It was really, really good stuff. Positive day for Tyler.”

The Dodgers are expected to limit Glasnow to 4-5 innings in his first start back, with another extended break coming courtesy of next week’s All-Star break. His return, however brief, is timely. Los Angeles currently holds a six-game lead atop the NL West, despite dealing with injuries to multiple key arms, including Blake Snell, Roki Sasaki, and Tony Gonsolin.
Glasnow’s activation from the 60-day IL will require a corresponding 40-man roster move. Dustin May, who had been slated to pitch Wednesday, will now start Friday’s series opener in San Francisco. As the Dodgers eye a second-half push, Glasnow’s return adds much-needed firepower to a rotation in flux.
For a team with World Series aspirations, getting their top starter back is more than just good timing—it’s essential.
