After getting swept by the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Los Angeles Dodgers are set to begin a three-game series with the Baltimore Orioles.
Tyler Glasnow was scheduled to be on the mound for the Boys in Blue, but in an odd twist, Glasnow has been scratched, and now Shohei Ohtani will get the start.

Shohei Ohtani To Start For Dodgers Instead Of Tyler Glasnow
Ohtani was originally scheduled to start last Wednesday, but was scratched just ahead of the game due to an illness. He was replaced by Emmet Sheehan as the starting pitcher, but he remained the DH in the game.
Roberts told the media that Ohtani would get back in the rotation next Monday when the team returned from their road trip, but that has since been amended.
Could this simply be a move to get the rotation back on schedule?
Manager Dave Roberts began speaking with the media at roughly 1:40 PM PT today and provided a quick update on the move.
Dave Roberts said Tyler Glasnow reported back tightness. That’s why he was scratched. Plan is to push him back “a few days” and have him start “early next week.”

Glasnow was dealing with some kind of abrasion on one of the fingers of his throwing hand during his last start, and now it looks like he reported back tightness during warmups today, which was the reason for the move.
Roberts says the plan is to push him back “a few days” and hope to have him start “early” next week.
Here is the current lineup for tonight’s game:
- DH – Shohei Ohtani
- SS – Mookie Betts
- 1B – Freddie Freeman
- RF – Teoscar Hernández
- LF – Michael Conforto
- CF – Andy Pages
- 2B – Hyeseong Kim
- C – Dalton Rushing
- 3B – Miguel Rojas
- SP – Shohei Ohtani
Not ideal, but for the moment, it’s good to hear that it sounds minor and Glasnow is not expected to need any time on the injury list.
