Debate: Who Do You Want The Los Angeles Rams Schedule To Open Up Against?
The fantastic thing about being a football fan is there is no actual offseason. After the Super Bowl, there are league meetings, then the highly anticipated Free Agency period, then the spectacle that is the NFL Draft. (A whole media industry has been created just to serve THAT) And now, we have the NFL schedule release.
We already know WHO the Rams will play, but tomorrow we will know WHEN they play those teams. The NFL turned it into a full-length television event to celebrate the creation of the beautiful puzzle that is the NFL schedule.
We want to know who you want the Rams to play in WEEK ONE of their NFL season.
2022 Rams Home Opponents
The 2022 Rams’ home opponents: Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys, Las Vegas Raiders, Denver Broncos, and Buffalo Bills.
2022 Rams Away Opponents
The 2022 Rams’ away opponents are: Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Cardinals, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Los Angeles Chargers

Being the Super Bowl winner affords the Rams some special treatment for exactly one night. They will play at HOME on a stage all to themselves. That Thursday Night Football game will be the first game of the new season and the NFL likes to kick off its season with a bang; The Champs versus some hotshot contender.
So the parameters are a bit confining. It’s unlikely that it’s the Chargers game because the Rams are technically the away team this year. But if the league was going to go off the beaten path this would be a fun way to do it. LA vs. LA in LA, where the Rams just won the Super Bowl. Pretty good narrative. There are other road opponents on the Rams schedule that would fit the bill. The Buccaneers and Packers are both white-hot rivalries and a second round of Chiefs-Rams is just pure football fun.
Within the NFC they play the Panthers and the Falcons. Not exactly, premier opposition. But they also play Dallas. The shine might be a little dull on the badge of the Cowboys, but they have played the Rams tough in the McVay era. They have played four times since 2017. In their most recent tilt, the Rams snuck out with a three-point victory thanks in part to a favorable defensive pass interference call that took the Cowboys out of field goal range.
All of the Rams’ AFC home opponents would be interesting. The Denver/LA game has been announced to take place on Christmas day so that one won’t be first. Every Rams fan should be interested to see how their team matches up against the Bills. The Bills have only been on the Rams schedule once and that game was a doozy! Again this would be a departure for the NFL. They usually schedule an in-division game for that TNF game.
The matchup on the Rams schedule that the NFL is probably salivating over would be the best rivalry in football at the moment; Rams vs 49ers. McVay shook the 6-straight loss monkey off his back when he was able to beat Kyle Shanahan on the biggest stage he could, the NFC Championship game. Who gets the next notch on the belt would be an incredibly compelling way to start the 2022 season.
