Highly Touted Draft Pick’s Time With Rams Officially Over

The Tennessee Titans have added to their offensive line by claiming Logan Bruss off waivers from the Los Angeles Rams. Bruss, the former 2022 3rd rounder was the Rams’ very first pick in that draft despite it being the 104th overall pick. He was released by the team after they activated Steve Avila and Jonah Jackson ahead of their Monday Night Football game against the Miami Dolphins.

Bruss was added to the roster in the wake of Andrew Whitworth’s retirement and Austin Corbett leaving in free agency. It was never clear where his role on the team was, but it was clear they wanted him to compete for a starting role along the interior. In his time at Wisconsin, Bruss played primarily right tackle, but scouts saw him more as an NFL guard. Many assumed he would move into Joe Noteboom’s role as ‘swing’ tackle, given his versatility, as Noteboom was meant to take over for Whitworth.

Of course, 2022 was a very bad year for nearly every offensive lineman who donned the Horns.

Initially, Bruss started three games at left guard for this season, the first snaps of his three seasons, due to an injury to Avila, but he was replaced in Week 6 by the undrafted rookie from the USC Trojans, Justin Dedich. Bruss missed his entire rookie year due to a knee injury. He spent last season on the Rams’ practice squad.

According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, “Titans head coach Brian Callahan said on Monday that he likes the way the left side of the offensive line has played, but “we weren’t good enough there at all” in reference to the right side in their loss to the Chargers. Dillon Radunz started at right guard with Leroy Watson and John Ojukwu at right tackle.”
