On Wednesday night, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers faced off against the Memphis Grizzles at Crypto Arena.
The Lakers secured a 128-123 victory, bringing their record to 7-4 and setting a new franchise record in the process.
With the Memphis win, the Lakers have started 6-0 at home, a feat they haven’t achieved since the 2011-12 season. But that’s not all the great news they have to celebrate.
LeBron James In A League Of His Own
LeBron James continues to defy Father Time and is now extending his triple-double streak to three straight games in a row. The last person to accomplish this was himself at 34 years and 310 days old, the most recent to do so. Before him, Jason Kidd held the record at 34 years and 291 days old.

This is now the third consecutive triple-double in his career, tying for the longest of his 22-year career. At 40 years old, Karl Malone is the oldest player to record a triple-double. With Lebron’s 40th birthday looming just 46 days away, James is in a great position to break that record.
Following the game, head coach JJ Redick also commended James for his performance.
James ended up finishing the night with 35 points on 13-for-22 shooting, 4 assists, and 12 rebounds.
Focused On Present With Lakers As He Continues Record-Breaking Season
For James, it’s all about “living in the moment,” as he savors the joy of playing at such a high level in a game he loves. However, when questioned about his future playing time, he gave the same response as he did after achieving his second consecutive triple-double.
As the Lakers celebrate their win and LeBron’s historic streak, it’s hard not to wonder how much longer we’ll witness his brilliance on the court. James, who’s been a cornerstone of the game for over two decades, remains focused on the present, relishing each game as it comes. But his recent comments about the future add a bittersweet note to his legendary run.
For now, though, Lakers fans can savor these milestones, grateful for each time LeBron steps on the floor. The journey continues, but the countdown has begun for one of the game’s greatest icons.
