MLB Insider Links Los Angeles Dodgers to 8x All-Star, 10x Gold Glove Winner

Before the Los Angeles Dodgers can embark on their journey to become the first team to win back-to-back World Series titles since the 1998-2000 New York Yankees, they must address key needs. Of course, when you can win 98 games, there aren’t a lot of Dodgers roster changes that must be made. Yet, in the ever-competitive MLB landscape, if the Dodgers don’t take a step forward, they’re likely falling behind the rest of the pack.

Yet, this is the Dodgers we’re talking about. If there’s a player available who the front office can make a significant impact in the winning column, expect Los Angeles to chase after them. Now we have another player tossed into the mix, thanks to a new Dodgers rumor.

One area the Los Angeles Dodgers could address this offseason is at third base. While Max Muncy still presents a power threat, he was the team’s position player when asked to play defense. With a team-worst .964 fielding percentage, it only makes sense to consider alternative options.

Yet, according to MLB.com’s William Fleitch, the Dodgers could potentially chase after a Nolan Arenado trade this offseason.

“He was still an above-average offensive player last year. It’s really been the power, he’s kind of lost a little bit. He was a finalist for the Gold Glove. He’s the sort of veteran player every team obviously wants. Originally, he almost signed with the Dodgers a couple of times. They could be on the market.”

If the Dodgers did land Arenado, they’d improve their chances of making a significant upgrade in the field without losing offensive production. Yet, as you can imagine, the Dodgers likely wouldn’t be the only team hoping to land the ten-time Gold Glover this offseason.
