Concerning Rumors Swirl Around Los Angeles Dodgers Top Free Agent Negotiations

The Los Angeles Dodgers have made their intentions to build a championship team well-known. They have been in on every single high-end free agent available and even landed several upgrades to their already-stacked team.

Former Dodgers pitcher Walker Buehler remains a sought-after free agent. Despite his injury history, Buehler’s talent makes him an attractive option for several teams.

While the Dodgers are interested in retaining Buehler, they face competition from other clubs, including NL West rivals. The right-hander is seeking a multi-year deal with opt-out clauses, which reflects his confidence in his ability to return to form and his desire for long-term security.

Recently, Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller suggested that the San Francisco Giants could be a potential landing spot for free-agent pitcher Walker Buehler.

“The Giants are a strong candidate to sign Buehler mainly because they love striking short-term deals with player options. In the past few years, they have done so with Carlos Rodón, Michael Conforto, Sean Manaea, Ross Stripling, Mitch Haniger, Matt Chapman, and Blake Snell. If anyone is going to draw up a somewhat convoluted contract with incentives and options, it’s probably the G-Men.”

The Giants are attempting to re-find their World Series under new President of Baseball Operations and former Giants catcher, Buster Posey. They surprised the baseball world with their aggressive pursuit of star shortstop Willy Adames — signaling a belief that they can contend in the upcoming 2025 season.

Among the other teams with their eye on Buehler are the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, and Detroit Tigers — three more teams that have been aggressive this offseason.

So far, the Dodgers have re-signed relief pitcher Blake Treinen and starting pitcher Dustin May as well as added Blake Snell. They remain the favorites to sign Japanese fireballer, Roki Sasaki. The Dodgers remain in on outfielder Teoscar Hernandez, but face an uphill climb with his competition as well.
