With the Senior Bowl on Saturday, February 1st, 2025, many NFL prospects are set to take the field to raise their stock. One player in particular has impressed many NFL scouts and the Los Angeles Chargers‘ front office. That player is Texas A&M defensive lineman Shemar Stewart.
Shemar Stewart is the 20th-ranked prospect according to PFF, yet not a ton of NFL analysts had Stewart taken in the 1st Round before Senior Bowl practices. These practices have changed that idea drastically.
Shemar Stewart Could Be Perfect Fit For Los Angeles Chargers

With the potential of losing Pro Bowler Khalil Mack in Free Agency, the Los Angeles Chargers have a massive need for help at the defensive line position. Shemar Stewart could very much fill that need.
The 6’6, 290-pound defender has plenty of potential as a game-changer in the NFL and would benefit from learning from defensive coordinator Jesse Minter.
During his time at Texas A&M, the former 5-star was a staple of the highly touted defensive line under head coach Mike Elko.
A ton of attention was on Purdue transfer Nic Scourton heading into the season while Stewart turned heads throughout the year.
Stewart played 12 games for the Aggies this season where he achieved 2 sacks, 4 quarterback hits, and a whopping 33 hurries. While not exactly popping out on the stat sheet, Shemar’s presence was made known on nearly every snap he played on defense.
Throughout practice the past couple of days, scouts are all in on Stewart and his monstrous physicality. Stewart of course comes from the same university that has produced future hall-of-fame defensive players like Von Miller and Myles Garrett.
If selected with the Chargers’ first-round pick, Stewart could very easily become an NFL legend on par with these former Aggies.
