Will The Chargers Face Carr, Hill, Olave? Injury Updates Vs. Saints

The New Orleans Saints are set to receive a boost to their offense with the return of wide receiver Chris Olave and tight end Taysom Hill. Both players are expected to play against the Los Angeles Chargers this weekend.

Olave missed the previous game due to a concussion, while Hill has been sidelined with a chest and rib injury. The return of these key offensive weapons will be a significant boost to the Saints’ offense, which has struggled at times this season.

Olave has had a solid start to the 2024 NFL season. Through six games, he has caught 23 passes on 29 targets for 280 yards and one touchdown. Last season, he was the team’s top target with 138 targets. This season, he is third behind running back Alvin Kamara and Rashid Shaheed, who was just added to the team’s injured/reserve.

Hill, who is famous for being a Swiss army knife for the team taking reps at QB, RB, and TE, has rushed for 77 yards on 14 carries in just three games this year.

There is still a question about who will start at quarterback versus the Chargers. Both Derek Carr and Spencer Rattler were on the injury report this week. Rattler was a full participant in practice, but his status is currently unspecified. Carr missed all of the team’s practices and is listed as doubtful as he continues to nurse an oblique injury — making it likely that Rattler will get his third start despite a hip injury.

Rattler has completed 47 of 47 passes for 415, one touchdown, and two interceptions in two games while filling in for Carr.

The Saints have faced numerous injuries this season, including season-ending injuries to wide receiver Shaheed and cornerback Paulson Adebo.
