It was all but official that USC Trojans wide receiver Brenden Rice would be entering the 2024 NFL Draft when he was invited to the Reese’s Senior Bowl last week. Now he has made it official that he will indeed declare for the draft.
Rice announced that he would be declaring on his personal X.com account with a highlight video and a graphic at the end saying “Brenden Rice NFL Draft 2024.”
USC Trojans WR Brenden Rice Declares For NFL Draft
Rice, son of NFL Legend Jerry Rice, had a solid year for the Trojans with an expanded role in the offense. He finished the year with 45 receptions, 791 yards, and 12 touchdowns.
His speed was something that was really utilized in the USC offense. He was able to blow the top off of defenses and was the home run threat for quarterback Caleb Williams.
Rice began his career at the University of Colorado before transferring to USC in 2022. During his time at Colorado, he accumulated 419 yards and 5 touchdowns.
During his first season with the USC Trojans, Rice flew a bit under the radar with receivers Jordan Addison, Mario Williams, and Tahj Washington garnering most of the attention. With Addison (future first-round pick) sitting out the bowl game against Tulane, Rice exploded onto the scene with 6 catches for 174 yards and 2 touchdowns. He carried this momentum over to 2023 as one of the top WRs on the roster.
Pro Football Focus currently has Rice ranked 96th on their Big Board.
