It looks as if the USC Trojans will get a much-needed boost on defense heading into the Victory Bell game against the UCLA Bruins.
LB Eric Gentry has been participating in non-padded warmups, which typically indicates the player will be active for the game. The SC defense has notably been bad all year, but they have also been banged up, and last week against Oregon saw a lot of starters out, including Eric Gentry.
Gentry adds versatility to the linebacker group and brings incredible length to the pass defense.
The UCLA Bruins offense goes through the running game, but they will get their veteran QB back in Ethan Garbers. Pretty much every offense has had its way with the SC defense this season, and they will certainly have their hands full going up against Carson Steele and company, but getting Eric Gentry back will certainly be a help.
The Trojans will also get CB Jacobe Covington back. The secondary has been decimated, and we even saw freshman WR Makai Lemon play some DB last week against Oregon. Covington has one interception on the season, and the USC Trojans could certainly use one today against the Bruins.
The Victory Bell Game kicks off in just over an hour at the LA Coliseum.
