USC Football Gets Much-Needed OL Depth With Massive Transfer Addition

During Big Ten Media Days, USC Football coach Lincoln Riley said that they were not done adding players before fall camp.

“Yeah, stay tuned. Stay tuned. It’s not over yet.”

After barely 24 hours of saying that, the USC Trojans added a massive transfer to the offensive line.

Erwin Taomi To Join USC Football Program

After visiting USC in June, Taomi received a scholarship offer and signed with the Trojans this week. The Santa Maria JUCO product is a massive offensive lineman standing at 6’5 and weighing 360 pounds. If fans want to see more size in the trenches as SC heads to the Big Ten, Taomi certainly fits the build.

At the moment, the USC starting five will most likely be:

LT – Elijah Paige – 6’7, 320

LG – Emmanuel Pregnon – 6’5, 320

C – Jonah Monheim – 6’5, 310

RG – Alani Noa – 6’4, 335

RT – Mason Murphy – 6’5, 315

The offensive line as a whole has definitely beefed up since the end of last season, and the size of Taomi will certainly be a welcomed addition. The incoming 2025 class is also all 6’6+, 310 lbs+.

After the starting five, if you take out Gino Quinones (who will battle for a starting guard spot), it is a fairly young and inexperienced room. Even though he played at the JUCO level, Taomi will bring much-needed experience that the Trojans could need down the stretch if the unit gets banged up.
