Less than a week ago the UCLA Bruins added two offensive linemen to their roster from the transfer portal. First, they picked up former Arkansas offensive lineman Ty’Kieast Crawford. The next day they secured ex Jacksonville State lineman K.D. Arnold.
Just days later it was announced that Crawford revoked his commitment and will move on to the West Virginia Mountaineers.
Crawford, who spent the past four seasons with the Razorbacks, has one year of collegiate eligibility remaining.
While he appeared in 33 games during his tenure in Fayetteville, including six starts, his 2024 season was significantly impacted by limited playing time.
UCLA Bruins Recent Loss In Transfer Portal Could Lead To Another Big Departure

This led leading Bruins analyst, Will Decker to call for a focus on retaining Arnold. “The focus is now to keep former [Jacksonville State] OT KD Arnold with UCLA as the 6 foot 7, 315-pound tackle is visiting other schools despite being verbally committed to UCLA’s portal class,” Decker wrote on social media.
Arnold, listed at 6-foot-7 and 315 pounds, appeared in 10 games as a true freshman in 2023, primarily contributing on special teams.
Arnold, a highly-touted recruit who chose UCLA over offers from Power Five programs such as Nebraska, North Carolina, and West Virginia, possesses the physical attributes to develop into a key contributor to the Bruins’ offensive line.
The UCLA Bruins, who ranked 114th in the nation with 2.8 sacks allowed per game last season, are seeking to bolster their offensive line.
The team, which finished the 2024 season with a 5-7 record, is hopeful that the recent additions to their roster will contribute to improved performance in the upcoming season.
Kaiden Arnold is the 20th overall player and the seventh offensive lineman that UCLA has brought in through the portal. The Bruins have also lost 22 players and rank No. 10 in On3’s Transfer Portal Team Rankings.
