Early in the UCLA Bruins – LSU Tigers game, the LSU right tackle Emery Jones, Jr. went down with an ankle injury. At that point, he left the game and did not return before halftime.
Associated Press Sports Writer, based in New Orleans, Brett Martel reported that “Jones Jr appeared to injure his left leg and looked angry as he hobbled along the sidelined and into the injury tent.”

In the tent, Jones’s ankle was taped and then retaped after testing the ankle’s stability. About an hour before halftime Martel witnessed “Jones out of the tent and practiced a few pass-blocking sets, apparently intending to remain in the game.”
He did not make a return to the field until the second half. Jones missed one game last season due to an ankle injury.
LSU’s offensive line was ranked as college football’s third best by PFF with what they call the finest tackle duo; Will Campbell and Jones. Both were ranked in the top 10, with Jones coming in at 9th best tackle. Through three games, he had given up just two pressures, zero in the last two games.
Thus far the UCLA pass rush hasn’t put much pressure on quarterback Garrett Nussmeier and hasn’t sacked him once. Jacob Busic is the Bruin that lines up primarily on the right edge. Devin Aupiu also rotates to that side as well.
