The Las Vegas Raiders have had a busy offseason, headlined by hiring a new GM in John Spytek, a new head coach in Pete Carroll, and trading for quarterback Geno Smith.
They boosted their offense in the NFL Draft by taking running back phenom Ashton Jeanty. At the receiver position, they got a steal in the 2nd round by selecting Jack Bech.
However, even with the addition of Bech, the Raiders have a lower-tier receiving room. Brock Bowers is the clear WR1, even though he is truly a tight end.
Here is a look at their current receiver depth chart:
- Tre Tucker
- Jack Bech (R)
- Jakobi Meyers
- Dont’e Thornton Jr. (R)
- Collin Johnson
- Tommy Mellott (R)
Bech, Thornton Jr., and Mellot (converted QB) are all rookies. Meyers is a very underrated receiver, but the room is filled with a lot more “what-ifs” than known commodities.
There is one receiver out there who could completely change the complexity of this team, and he is actually potentially available.
Raiders Would Light The NFL On Fire By Trading For All-Pro Receiver

Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine put out a list of every team’s roster needs and tradable assets. The Raiders still have a tangible need at wide receiver for this season, and it is the NFL’s worst-kept secret that the Miami Dolphins and Tyreek Hill are not exactly on the same page.
Both Jalen Ramsey and Tyreek Hill have been in potential trade talks for months, and it is now more likely that it will happen than not.
The Raiders still have roughly $36 million in cap space for this season, according to Over The Cap. Hill has a cap number of nearly $27 million, all of which is guaranteed. His cap number jumps to a staggering $52 million next year, but none of it is guaranteed, and every year after is voidable, making his contract surprisingly amendable.

A deal would certainly take some strategic negotiation, but the Raiders could make it happen, and they have the assets, including young wide receiver talent, to make it happen.
A receiver room with Jakobi Meyers, Jack Bech, and Tyreek Hill would be arguably the best room in football. And then just add in the All-Pro second-year tight end Brock Bowers, and Geno Smith might just have the best statistical year of his career.
Will the Raiders be this aggressive and make this happen? Probably not. Should they? What do you think, Raider Nation?
