Veteran left tackle Kolton Miller is entering the final year of his contract with the Las Vegas Raiders, and despite his desire to stay, there’s no guarantee he’ll be with the team beyond 2025. The former first-round pick’s $12.31 million salary for the upcoming season is not guaranteed, and extension talks with the organization have yet to gain meaningful traction.

Commitment Without Clarity

“I want to be a Raider for life,” Miller told reporters at minicamp. “I love it here. I don’t want to go anywhere else. I only know one way to do it, and that’s showing up, getting better each day.”

Miller has been a model of consistency and leadership since being drafted in 2018. He’s started 108 regular season games and has consistently ranked among Pro Football Focus’ top offensive tackles over the past four years. Still, Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that a “gap” exists between Miller and the team regarding the terms of an extension.

A Market-Driven Decision

“Miller has said he wants to be a Raider for life, and the club is open to re-signing him at the right price,” Bonsignore wrote. “Finding that common ground could be a challenge.”

A new deal could cost Las Vegas between $20–23 million per year, a bump from Miller’s current $18.01M AAV. But with rookie third-rounder Charles Grant waiting in the wings, the Raiders may be hesitant to invest long-term — especially if Grant shows promise in 2025.

Las Vegas Raiders Leadership at a Premium

“Miller is easily the best Raiders offensive lineman,” noted ESPN’s Aaron Schatz, adding that the team ran more effectively behind Miller in 2024. “It would be good to nail down a couple more years with Miller as the veteran leader of the group.”

Head coach Pete Carroll has emphasized competition, and Miller seems to embrace it. Whether that attitude — and his play — will earn him a third contract with the Raiders remains uncertain.

If no deal is reached by season’s end, Miller could hit the open market for the first time in his career, and the Raiders risk losing one of their most reliable pillars up front.
