The Raiders took care of their biggest question mark by trading a 3rd round pick for quarterback Geno Smith before free agency began. They have also added a multitude of players on defense, including safety Jeremy Chinn.
There are still some potential small additions that GM John Spytek and Pete Carroll can make, but most likely, the team will begin to set their sights on the NFL Draft.
While they added Raheem Mostert to the running back room, reports are that there is a large contingency in the building that wants to take Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty with the 6th overall pick.

Should The Raiders Take Ashton Jeanty With The 6th Overall Pick?

For months, it had pretty much been decided that the Raiders would need to take a QB with the 6th pick, and many mock drafts had them selecting Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders. But the trade for Geno Smith changed everything.
There is still a chance that they take a quarterback in the draft. Just look at what Atlanta did last year, selecting Michael Penix Jr. with the 8th pick after signing Kirk Cousins to a huge contract a few months prior.

While conventional wisdom says not to draft a running back in the top 10, Jeanty would actually be a great pick for the Raiders. He is a dynamic runner who does everything well and would be cost-controlled for 6 years if the Raiders picked up the 5th-year option and then used the franchise tag in his 6th season.
Currently, the running back room is as follows:
- Raheem Mostert
- Zamir White
- Sincere McCormick
- Chris Collier
Ashton Jeanty would instantly improve the Raiders’ offense. They still need to improve the wide receiver room, but the thought of pairing Jeanty with tight end Brock Bowers could actually be pretty exciting.
Just a reminder, the Seahawks had their heyday under Pete Carroll when they had solid QB play (Russell Wilson) and a dominant running game with Marshawn Lynch.
