The Las Vegas Raiders have made significant strides in securing their 2024 draft class, but two key names remain noticeably absent from the roster of signed rookies: second-round wide receiver Jack Bech and third-round cornerback Darien Porter.
With the recent signing of fourth-rounder Dont’e Thornton, the Raiders are now down to just two unsigned picks from their 11-player class. Thornton, who dazzled at Tennessee with 26 catches for 661 yards and six touchdowns, led all FBS players in yards per reception in 2024. General Manager John Spytek praised the 6-foot-4 receiver’s blend of size and speed, declaring that Thornton “was born to be a Raider.”
Las Vegas Raiders Still Negotiating With 2025 Draft Picks; Bech, Porter

Still, eyes are now turning toward Bech and Porter, whose contracts remain unresolved as offseason activities ramp up. Bech, a dynamic weapon at LSU and later TCU, was drafted with the expectation that he’d compete for immediate reps in a receiver room looking for dependable targets. Meanwhile, Porter, a speedy and long-limbed corner from Iowa State, brings special teams upside and defensive versatility that could prove crucial in the AFC West.
While contract negotiations can vary in complexity, the delay in signing two of the team’s top three picks is beginning to stand out. These deals are often routine under the current rookie wage scale, yet any extended absence from offseason preparation can affect early development, particularly for players expected to contribute right away.
As the Raiders continue shaping their identity under a new regime, getting Bech and Porter under contract is essential. With most of their rookie class already in the fold, Las Vegas now faces the final step of turning their draft haul into a fully integrated unit—and that won’t happen until Bech and Porter officially become Raiders.
Will the front office seal the deals soon?
