Jackson Powers-Johnson is quickly becoming one of the most promising young players on the Las Vegas Raiders’ roster. After appearing in 15 games and starting 14 during his rookie campaign, Powers-Johnson is expected to take over the starting center role following the release of veteran Andre James.
Drafted in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, the former Oregon standout played all three interior line positions in 2024 and demonstrated versatility, toughness, and growth. According to Pro Football Focus, he logged 956 snaps, allowed 23 pressures and two sacks, and earned a 63.9 overall grade—highlighted by strong run-blocking.
Jackson Powers-Johnson Describes ‘Welcome To NFL Moment’ With Las Vegas Raiders

His “welcome to the NFL” moment came against Steelers All-Pro Cam Heyward, who handed Powers-Johnson his first-ever sack. “He didn’t beat me; I beat myself,” Powers-Johnson said on teammate Maxx Crosby’s The Rush podcast. “I overset, and he got me. He said some choice words after, and I really hope he comes back for another year.” At Oregon, Powers-Johnson didn’t allow a single sack over three seasons, making the play against Heyward a memorable, if humbling, milestone.
Powers-Johnson played 1355 snaps during his three seasons with the Oregon Ducks and allowed no sacks and just an astounding four pressures. His first sack came in his fourth game with the Raiders.
What sets Powers-Johnson apart isn’t just his physical ability—it’s his passion for the Silver and Black. “My grandpa grew up in Oakland… My first ever NFL game was a Raiders game,” he said. “If you want to see aggression and absolute killers, you watch the Raiders.”
He embodies the Raider ethos—gritty, competitive, and legacy-driven. As he steps into a full-time starting role, the franchise sees him as a foundational piece. With another strong season, Jackson Powers-Johnson could be well on his way to building a legacy of his own.
