Las Vegas Raiders Best Fit For Explosive WR In Splash Trade Idea

The Las Vegas Raiders are rebuilding with purpose under new head coach Pete Carroll, and the offensive transformation may not be complete just yet. While the team holds the No. 6 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and is expected to target offensive talent like standout running back Ashton Jeanty, veteran help at wide receiver remains a pressing need. One intriguing name potentially on the trade market? Detroit Lions wideout Jameson Williams.

After a rocky start to his NFL career due to injury and suspension, Williams finally flashed his first-round potential in 2024. The former Alabama star hauled in 58 receptions for 1,001 yards and seven touchdowns, becoming the only wide receiver in the league with over 50 catches to average more than 17.0 yards per reception. His elite speed and big-play ability could be exactly what Las Vegas needs to complement new quarterback Geno Smith and dynamic tight end Brock Bowers.

The Raiders do have a deep threat in Tre Tucker, but Williams’ upside is on another level. Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports recently called Las Vegas “one of the best fits” for Williams should he be traded, noting that he’d “make a lot of sense for Pete Carroll’s team.”

Still just 25, Williams would bring youth, explosiveness, and two more years of team control. Given his injury history and past suspension, his trade value may not be sky-high—a third-round pick could be enough to get it done. That’s a price the Raiders should seriously consider.

Adding Williams to a receiving corps that includes Jakobi Meyers and Bowers would instantly upgrade a unit currently lacking reliable options. If Detroit is ready to move on—especially with fifth-year option decisions looming—Vegas could capitalize and land a true game-changer.
