The Las Vegas Raiders made one of the boldest moves of the 2025 NFL Draft by selecting Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty with the No. 6 overall pick—a significant investment in both talent and finances.
Jeanty arrives in Las Vegas following a record-breaking 2024 season, during which he rushed for a staggering 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns. The 21-year-old was the most productive back in college football and now steps into a lead role in Chip Kelly’s offense, where he is expected to be an immediate focal point.
Las Vegas Raiders 4-Year Ashton Jeanty Contract

His draft slot came with major financial commitment. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jeanty has already signed his rookie contract—fully guaranteed at $35.9 million over four years, including a $22.7 million signing bonus. “Raiders RB and No. 6 overall pick Ashton Jeanty has signed his fully-guaranteed, four-year $35,895,812 rookie deal that includes a $22,746,044 signing bonus,” Schefter posted on X, citing Jeanty’s agents, Henry Organn and Agent Big Al of Disruptive Sports.
Jeanty now ranks as the 11th highest-paid running back in the NFL based on average annual salary—remarkably, before taking a single snap. He’s set to earn more per year than several established stars, including Baltimore’s Derrick Henry.
Despite the cost, the Raiders clearly believe Jeanty is worth every penny. With Josh Jacobs no longer in the backfield, Jeanty will be handed the keys to a rushing attack in need of new life. His blend of vision, balance, and breakaway speed fits seamlessly into Kelly’s uptempo offensive scheme, and early expectations are that he could emerge as a Pro Bowler in his first year.
If Jeanty lives up to his college billing and becomes a true offensive engine, the Raiders’ big bet may quickly transform into a long-term bargain.
